This original landscape painting depicts Knot wading birds feeding on the mudflats of the Exe Estuary, Devon.  The artist sketched this scene when she visited a hide on the river Exe, near her home.  This bird painting exquisitely portrays, in a realism style, the first arrivals of these little brown birds, with the evening light casting a blueish hue on the mudflats.
