This stunning landscape painting was painted on the spot, near the Pennine Way path above Holmfirth in Yorkshire, U.K.  The artist had to juggle shapes, tone and colour, but particularly texture, all at once; finding the most appropriate marks to suggest the detail of the beautiful moorland vegetation seen from a distance.  Bruce loves painting landscapes and especially enjoys spending hours surrounded by such fine scenery.
